About Us !

“Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.” – John Wooden

Infinity Space Club is the only Astronautical society of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun whose foundation dates back to 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Ugur Guven and our faculty advisor Asst. Prof. Zozimus D. Labana.

We are a group of the most curious minds of space enthusiasts with the primary aim of enlightening and providing our members with an early access to knowledge of the Aerospace domain.

With the support of Department of Aerospace Engineering, UPES, our partners, collaborators and sponsors, we deliver this much needed exposure to the students by organizing a plethora of national and international, technical and fun events throughout the year which are a combination of competitions, guest lectures, workshops, observation nights and our annual space convention, ‘Renaissance’.

Renaissance: The National Space Convention is the crown jewel of our club. It is an enthralling opportunity for young minds and budding professionals to participate in and gain an experience of a lifetime which will boost their interest in this field. It has been conducted twice, in 2018 and in 2020 and has managed to garner praise from national as well as local newspapers. We were honored to have Dr. Tessy Thomas, Director General, Aeronautical Systems, DRDO, also known as, ‘The Missile Woman of India’ as a chief guest in the most recent edition of Renaissance.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Besides, human have been gifted not only with the ability to learn but also with the ability to think. Reinforcing that fact, Infinity Space Club, under the Department of Aerospace Engineering presents the National Space Convention – Renaissance 2020.

National Space Convention is the annual space convention of INFINITY, the Astronautical Space Club of UPES, Dehradun. It aims to usher the budding professionals by opening the portals of the young minds in a plethora of technical and non-technical events, workshops, guest lectures and observation nights because it’s all about the talents just waiting to be tapped!

This year’s theme, Space Exploration – Discovery and Exploration of celestial structures in outer space by means of evolving and developing space technology – is one of the hardest topics till date to be researched on which in turn has its own beauty and enigma!
